What is Qi Gong?

The word, "Qi," is pronounced, "chee." It is used in the Chinese language to describe what one might call, "life force". "Qi Gong," in Chinese, means, "energy work."

Qi healing uses the intent of the practitioner and facilitator to direct the qi of one's body in meditations, exercises and hands-on energy work. It encourages the energy of the body to flow through it's natural paths in a gentle way.

Practicing a particular Qi Gong exercise which is specially designed to aid a particular issue has been known to increase the process of healing.

Hands-on energy work is a relaxing and rejuvenating way to direct healing energy with the aid of a qi gong healer.

"It [Qi Gong] is the practice of learning to control the movement of the life force internally, using only the mind to direct energy in the body. Physical movement may be used, but is not required." (Frantzis, Bruce Kumar. Opening the Energy Gates of Your Body. Berkley, California: North Atlantic Books, 1993.)
